Early delivery of Grit Bins helps Hampshire CC

LEAFIELD (Formally know as Linpac) has completed delivery of 1250 Grit Bins for Hampshire County Council, a full six weeks ahead of schedule.

The order, won in a competitive tender, was originally due for completion in mid January but Wiltshire based manufacturer LEAFIELD Environmental pulled out all the stops and delivered the last consignment on 30th November. In fact, the majority of the order was delivered before the recent severe weather set in, providing an immediate benefit to residents and business in the county.

The distinctive 400 litre Grit Bins, all produced in the Hampshire corporate ‘sapphire blue’ colour and featuring the county crest have been strategically placed in towns and villages across Hampshire, including residential areas, outlying villages, and road junctions. Such has been the response to their appearance that a further 600 Grit Bins have been ordered by other ‘public’ authorities within the county and these will be delivered before Christmas.

Customer Services Manager at LEAFIELD, coordinated the project with Hampshire CC and says "this has been a major undertaking for both Hampshire County Council and LEAFIELD Environmental and the success has been due to excellent teamwork on both sides. We responded to winning the order by quickly expanding capacity and identifying production improvements that enabled us to exceed the customer’s delivery requirements for this important tender".
