From waste plastic bottles to ECO Safety Bollards

Plastic bottles used in homes all over the UK are being chipped and combined with regular polymer by LEAFIELD Environmental
(Formally known as Linpac Environmental) to produce an environmentally friendly ECO traffic bollard.
The launch of this new "green" bollard construction technique is seen as a major advance at a time of growing environmental awareness in the UK. General Manager Paul Black says "As our company name suggests, LEAFIELD Environmental are always striving to become more environmentally friendly and the development of the ECO Bollard allows us to take a significant step towards reducing the environmental impact in our manufacturing process." The ECO bollard is manufactured using a combination of 50% chipped bottles and 50% regular polymer.
During the process, plastic bottles previously used for milk, shampoo, washing-up liquid and similar consumer items are simply washed and chipped before becoming part of the new product. Paul Black said: "Using recycled plastics such as chipped bottles is particularly environmentally friendly as it allows us to efficiently re-use a waste material whilst keeping the processing to an absolute minimum."
The ECO Bollard will initially be offered within LEAFIELD's two most popular bollard ranges; Heritage and Sentinel, in Mottle Slate Grey or Mottle Sandstone colours.
