Sentry Junction Bollards get attention!

The new Sentry Bollard from Leafield has been developed to help reduce accidents on rural roads by alerting drivers to hidden junctions.

Despite routine signposting, the junctions of minor roads with rural ‘A’ and ‘B’ roads can often be difficult to be seen by road users especially at night or in poor visibility. This produces a hazard with cars suddenly breaking to make a turn or not adequately slowing to allow for obscured vehicles coming out of the turning.

The growing trend, therefore, is to mark the precise position of these junctions placing a bollard close to the road either side of the in coming minor road.

The new Sentry Bollard has been developed specifically to provide a visual hazard warning in this type of situation. It features a, distinctive, ringed top section and at 1.125 metres, it is a full 100mm taller than a traditional highway bollard. For this application Sentry can be supplied as a white bollard with either 150mm (class 1 or 2) banding or in a ‘Visibol’ format with up to four reflective bands for even greater visibility.

Sentry is manufactured in durable and maintenance free polyethylene (MDPE) and there is a choice of either Standard, ‘ECO’ recycled or ‘Reflex’ self righting material according to the need. Ground fixings include, Permanent, Socketed, Surface and Anti-Ram.
